You can find out at short notice what happens if we don't have a pool test on Monday via the homepage and from the teachers.

Stay healthy! And always remember: These are requirements of the federal government, the state and the district governments! We didn't just make it up 😊

Your school management

Also for the next week 03.05. until May 7th, 2021, nothing changes in consultation with the lower school supervisory authority! Everything stays the same as this week!

That means we're going to continue like last week! The usual childcare kiddies can come. No final classes, as the students are not in any exam situation there. Self-tests will of course continue to be carried out with the supervising students. No special school traffic, no hot lunch, the following times: Monday to Thursday 8.30 a.m. to 2.45 p.m., Friday until 12.30 p.m.

End of update on April 15, 2021

Press conference of the Minister from today to next week from April 19, 2021

We haven't got any mail from the ministry yet!

The teachers will inform you about the design from next week. We'll probably resume alternating classes like we did before the Easter break. We cannot offer testing of your children in this form. We will also inform you about possible solutions at short notice. https://www.youtube.com/embed/DcH7aIuEhmM?feature=oembed

Update valid from April 12th, 2021

To parents and legal guardians

From April 12th, 21st until April 16th, 21st, all students are in distance learning.

There is only supervision. We can only provide 12 childcare places. If you have any special needs, please speak to the school management! Almost all places are occupied. All teachers take care of the supervision and distance teaching!

Times:

Monday to Thursday 8.30 a.m. to 2.45 p.m., Friday until 12.30 p.m.

No special traffic = bring it yourself and pick it up in / from the care center

No warm lunch = give a packed lunch

AHA rules valid, mask compulsory

We will inform you about whether and how we organize the mandatory self-tests for the students.

It is still unclear whether the pupils in the supervision have to be tested twice a week.

The colleagues will keep you up to date.

Link MSB-Mail to read

Since we will still be dependent on a large proportion of distance communication for an indefinite period of time, we will use Schoolfox as an information platform. All you need is a smartphone of any brand on which you can install the app.

You will also be informed about this by your colleagues. Some classes have been participating in the pilot project for some time.

Please refrain from inquiries about the further planning of the lesson. We will inform you as soon as we are informed about the ministry and have been able to adjust our planning. We are not responsible for the usually short lead time!

Not unnoticed, but not feasible at the moment:

The Schule-am-Schwalbenweg celebrated its 50th birthday in February!

In due course we will celebrate it again!

From February 22, 2021, the special needs schools are to organize and carry out school offers in alternating instruction (face-to-face teaching and distance learning) as part of the continued lockdown. After a precise evaluation of the school mail from the MSB NRW from February 11th, 2021, we will work out a concept for alternate teaching from February 22nd, 2021 with the conference and the school supervisory authority / the provider and inform our students and parents accordingly in good time. The alternating lessons are only valid for the primary level and the students in the final grades. All other students will continue to be taught distance learning. Care offers will also continue to be made possible. The class leaders will contact the parents about this

According to the current status from the ministry, from the district government and after information from the carrier (city of Herne), the movable vacation days remain on Rose Monday, February 15. and Violet Tuesday 16.02. exist.

That means, neither on February 15, nor on February 16. distance lessons or supervision take place.

Digital devices via BUT:

Here is an excerpt from an email from the school authority.I will prepare a certificate as soon as possible and provide you with further tips on usable end devices:

[…] Ladies and gentlemen,

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, face-to-face teaching at almost all schools has largely or completely been replaced by distance teaching and so children whose families are dependent on basic security benefits for jobseekers (SGB II) often do not have the necessary technical equipment to take part in online lessons.

However, it is especially important for these children that they continue to have access to education. For this reason, the job center will cover the costs for digital devices for pupils in need.

These pupils can assert a “one-time, irrefutable special need according to SGB II”, which goes beyond the standard requirement, insofar as they are not provided with digital devices by their respective school or the school authority.

In order for the students to be able to assert the unavoidable need, they need a Confirmation from the school about the need for a digital device to participate in distance lessons and via a nonexistent loan facility at the school.

]…]

The amount of the respective additional requirement is to be determined in each individual case on the basis of the school specifications (if available) and should generally be the total amount of 350.00 EUR per student for all required end devices (e.g. tablet / PC each with accessories, e.g. printer, initial purchase of printer cartridges).

This measure is independent of other already planned but not yet implemented measures to equip schools with digital devices from the federal-state digital pact. So much for the end devices required currently not available, the respective pupils can register the requirement at the job center.

The job center checks whether the student receives benefits from the basic security for jobseekers (SGB II). As a school, you only have to issue the certificate to the students upon request. It is important to ensure that the end devices have a webcam for online conferences, if possible, and that the pupils can fully participate in distance lessons. [...]

Distance learning and supervision are extended until February 12, 2021!

All families who have taken care of their child up to now need new applications to complete! We automatically address these families.

If more students are to be admitted to the care in February, I ask the parents contact us by phone on Friday, January 29th. or by Monday, February 1st at the latest. to be recorded during secretarial hours. Especially if school attendants also have to be included!

In particular for the pupils of the middle, upper and professional practical level, it is important to reach an agreement with the school management.

The care takes place under the same conditions as in January!

Distance learning for all students (everyone stays at home) from 11.01.21! (Until probably 31.01.2021)

You have probably heard of the changes from the news.

How is learning going from Monday, January 11th, 2021?

All students are provided with work material for distance learning.

From Monday, January 11th, 2021 there will be emergency care!

We offer emergency care from Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. On Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

There is no lunch! The pupils for emergency care will be brought and picked up by you.

The teachers will contact you promptly by phone.

Emergency care cannot be booked at will!

Since we do not yet have the possibility for all pupils to use digital channels,

the students receive the tasks for learning at home in the following ways:

  • You pick up new assignments from the school at set times / return those that have been processed.
  • Some things can be sent by post.
  • Maybe we can set up a courier service.

The teachers of your child (s) will discuss this with you over the phone!

(Should you come into possession of a teacher's private telephone number in this way, it must under no circumstances be passed on unsolicited or used by you for calls from your side without the consent of the teacher!)

In the following form you can see the application for emergency care. You can print it out and fill it out and sign it. Or the teacher will discuss this with you over the phone and sign on your behalf. Page 1 / 2Zoom 100% Page 1 / 1Zoom 100%

We wish you a better, healthy new year!

Since there are currently pending consultations, I cannot give you any information about the school operations from Monday.

The following applies to emergency care on Thursday and Friday:

The registered students will be brought and picked up by you at the times you have specified.

As soon as there is something new, I will get in touch with you here. If you absolutely have to reach me before Thursday, please send an SMS / email to the phone number / email address (see on the right under availability). Page 1 / 1Zoom 100%

IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT!

Dear parents, dear legal guardians,

Distance learning (high school and professional internship students all stay at home) and exemption from face-to-face teaching (students in pre-school, lower and intermediate levels)

You have probably heard of the changes to school attendance from the news.

How is learning going from Monday, December 14th, 2020?

Since the e-mail from the ministry did not arrive until Friday after school ended, all pupils can come on Monday as normal (8.30 a.m. - 1.15 p.m.)!

The pupils who have already been to distance learning (on leave from attendance at school or with medical evidence) stay at home!

Then stay from Tuesday Everyone High school and vocational level pupils at home!

We will clarify the problem in individual families on Monday.

Parents of pupils in the preliminary, lower and middle grades are free to decide whether their children come to school!
If your child / children are not supposed to come from Monday (or Tuesday), we need a written notification from the parents by 8 p.m. on Sunday evening at:  g.knierim@157650.nrw.schule or as an SMS to 017695658710 (or at the latest if your child is still coming on Monday) in the contact booklet on Monday!

with the following content:

child's name

My child will stay at home until the holidays!

Your name

OR

child's name

My child is going to school until the holidays!

Your name

Since we do not yet have the possibility for all pupils to use digital channels,

the pupils receive the tasks for learning at home in this way:

You pick up the assignments from the school at set times! Some students can take their material home with them on Monday.

The teachers of your child (s) will discuss this with you over the phone!

(Should you come into possession of a teacher's private telephone number in this way, it must under no circumstances be passed on unsolicited or used by you for calls from your side without the consent of the teacher!)

Here is the excerpt from the mail from the Ministry of Education:

[…] In addition, we have made every effort in the last few days to develop solutions for those regions that are affected by particularly high incidence values (values above 200) in direct discussion with the health authorities. And we made an early decision to put the lessons on hold from the fourth weekend in Advent until the start of the Christmas holidays.

Nevertheless, we now have to state that the measures to contain the corona pandemic have not yet proven to be sufficient overall. This is the reason why the previous regulations have to be temporarily expanded as part of a lockdown. With further contact restrictions and cuts in business and trade as well as in the private sphere, the number of new infections must be significantly reduced. And the schools should now also take part in this strategy of consistent contact reduction with appropriate measures. These are embedded in an overall strategy for the coming weeks.

As a contribution to the general contact reduction, the following regulations apply from Monday, December 14, 2020:

In grades 1 to 7, parents or legal guardians can have their children exempt from classroom instruction.

In order to simplify the procedure in view of the shortness of the time, the parents or legal guardians notify the school in writing if they want to make use of this exemption. You indicate when the student switches to distance learning. The earliest date is December 14, 2020. Switching back and forth between face-to-face teaching and distance learning is not possible. This does not make sense in terms of infection prevention.

Years 8 to 13 [Upper and BP level] Lessons are generally only given as distance lessons. For pupils with a need for special educational support that requires special supervision, this must be ensured in consultation with their parents or legal guardians. [The school attendants cannot be used at home!]

I would like to ask you to provide all parents or legal guardians with the necessary information as soon as possible.

The exemption from face-to-face teaching in grades 1 to 7 and the compulsory distance teaching are not to be equated with a suspension of compulsory schooling. Learning and working at home, as practiced for the first time by many students in the spring and for which there are concepts updated by the schools, also applies to this special week between December 14th and 18th, 2020.

The rules of the so-called regulation on distance learning are to be applied mutatis mutandis this week.

Deviating from this, the vocational colleges use the possibilities of distance learning while expanding the previous regulations. The school management decides on its own responsibility in which course and to what extent distance learning can be implemented in a pedagogical and organizational sense.
[...]
There are no classes on the two working days immediately following the end of the Christmas holidays (7th and 8th January 2021). The same rules apply as for the non-teaching days on December 21 and 22, 2020. [You will be asked about this!]

I once again ask for your understanding for this short-term decision. It is due to the persistently problematic infection situation and takes place in the interest of a transnational approach. In the last few months you have done important and valuable work under special conditions; I want to emphasize this again at this point. Please use the leeway available to you when structuring face-to-face teaching and distance learning. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in a hopefully calmer year 2021! Update No. 6 in the school year 20/21 Monday, October 26th, 2020

Dear parents, legal guardians and carers,

Classes at our schools will start on October 26th, 2020 in the reduced scope, as since the summer holidays. You have certainly taken note of the dramatic development in the number of infections during the holidays!

Please dress your children in an "onion look"! Due to the requirements for intermittent ventilation and cross ventilation, the autumn temperatures can also lead to cooler times in the classroom. The special hygiene rules are also maintained:

  • Contrary to what was assumed, most of the students come to wear the Mouth and nose covering (MNB) very well clear. We're really glad!
  • The only alternative option for permanent removal of the MNB in class would be lessons in shift work (in the case of our staff shortage, only schooling would be possible every second day for a divided group). We assume that neither you nor we want that and that this would not do the students any good!
  • Wearing a mouth and nose cover (MNB) in the classroom only can be waived if the students are seated.
  • When moving through the class / building / site, an MNB must still be worn if this is possible against the background of an impairment or a possible medical contraindication.
  • We pay attention to frequent MNB breaks through drinking and ventilation breaks, but we also have to adhere to other rules, such as maintaining distance.
  • In principle, the obligation to wear an MNB still applies on the school premises and in the school building.
  • Overall, the following applies: In the event of a medical contraindication or a corresponding impairment, the pupils do not have to (or may not) wear MNB after consultation with the school management.
  • The previous regulations continue to apply to special school transport (school bus).
  • In the schoolyard - with our current break regulations, which are divided into classes - it is possible to dispense with wearing an MNB if a distance is maintained.

Cold symptoms in schoolchildren

The Ministry of Education has brought out a diagram that shows the ways / action steps when cold symptoms occur. You can find this diagram below this text.

In the case of Covid-19 symptoms (especially fever, dry cough), a medical evaluation is necessary. Only then are students allowed to go back to school.

If symptoms occur during everyday school life, students must be picked up immediately. Students with a cold should be observed at home for 24 hours. If no further symptoms occur, school attendance is possible again.

Update No. 5 in the school year 20/21 Friday, September 29th, 2020

Dear parents, dear legal guardians,

We are currently experiencing the first wave of illness among colleagues during the cold season. Our already explosive staff shortage is exacerbated by this and classes have to stay at home for one day in turn during this week. If your child's class is affected, you will be informed at least one school day in advance.

Wednesday, 09/30 the B2

Thursday, October 1st the B1

Friday, October 2nd the V2

This does not apply to pupils who cannot be looked after at home due to a verifiable emergency. An emergency group can be used for these days not to be set up. Schoolchildren cannot currently be divided into other groups as guest students!

We won't leave a class at home next week. But we are shortening all school days:

Monday October 5th, 8.30 a.m. - 1.15 p.m.

Tuesday October 6th 8.30 a.m. - 1.15 p.m.

Wednesday October 7th 8.30 a.m. - 1.15 p.m.

No school on Thursday! The afternoon sports group does not take place either!

Friday 9.10. 8.30 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.

Kind regards

Dear parents, legal guardians and carers,

Update No. 3 in the school year 20/21 Tuesday, September 1st, 2020

Excerpt from the mail from the MSB yesterday afternoon:

Limited need to wear a mouth and nose cover (MNB)

[...] From September 1st, 2020, the Corona Care Ordinance will no longer provide for an obligation to wear mouth and nose covers in the classrooms, provided that the students have fixed seats here. Teachers and other educational staff do not have to wear an MNB if they can keep a minimum distance of 1.5 meters in the classroom. This also means that students wear their MNB as soon as they leave their seats - before, during or after class. [...]

What follows from this and how we keep the risk of infection for everyone at school as low as possible will be discussed at a conference and the results will be communicated to you here on Thursday.

Until then, we will maintain the previous regulations in the classrooms.

Stay healthy!

Update No. 2 in the school year 20/21 Monday, August 31, 2020

We have not yet received any mail from the ministry. However, you must have taken from the press that there should be changes to the mask requirement.

Well, all students still need a mask outside of the classroom.

Nothing will change for Monday, August 31, 2020.

We will then tell you how we actually want to ensure a low-risk school time within the classroom from September 1st, 2020.

Remember !!

From Monday, August 17th, 2020 we will have to shorten lessons for an uncertain time due to the lack of staff!

Update No. 1 in the school year 20/21 Wednesday, August 12th, 2020

The first day of school in the new school year is over!

Thanks - including your help - it went relatively smoothly!

Tomorrow, after registering, you can pick up your children earlier from school (from 1 p.m.), as we do not want to make use of the current heat-free regulation this week.

Please do not enter the school just like you do today, but wait, we will make sure that your children are handed over to you before school.

We are available for questions that arise in school contexts and try to find a joint, sustainable solution with you!

Here's another downer: the physiotherapy practice is withdrawing from its work in our school. As parents, you have to find another solution for this therapy.

Speech therapy and occupational therapy are gradually starting up again. We try to offer everyone involved safe times to recover from wearing the mask. Otherwise we are willing to adhere to the requirements in terms of distance, mask requirements, etc. as precisely as possible.

References to other federal states etc. are not helpful, we are in North Rhine-Westphalia and live under the regulations here.

All activities such as: sports trips, school swimming etc. have been temporarily canceled by us. We are not in control of the regulations at extracurricular learning locations.

We cannot carry out the previous type of first class attendance meeting / school attendance / school conference like this. We will conduct the sessions in several sections.

You will be informed about it!

The following still applies: stay healthy!

First publication in the 2020/21 school year
We start again! From Wednesday, August 12th, 2020 to Friday, August 14th, 2020 the school will operate during normal opening times.
There will be lunch again! If you think this is too long for your child in the heat, you can collect it yourself from 1 p.m. on Wednesday and / or Thursday after prior registration!
Attention: Every pupil MUST have nose and mouth protection with them for the trip on the school buses! Unless your child has a medical exemption from the mask requirement!
With individual students, we will talk to you about how far a risk from both sides can be minimized or whether your child has to stay in “homeschooling”.
PLEASE REMEMBER: WE HAVE NOT DONE THESE RULES!
Schoolchildren who are financed but the position has not yet been filled will stay at home until an Inti is available.
Since this is usually about "risky" situations, call the teachers back today (Monday) or Tuesday!
As before, we do not accept students who do not care what symptoms are: fever, runny nose, cough, diarrhea, vomiting!
Another detailed letter from parents will be sent to you on Wednesday, if possible via your child.

Sorry for the short notice on the last day of school. As the school management, we have only now been instructed and informed about this.

You may have read in the press that the municipal authorities can offer additional holiday care or measures during the summer holidays. In our school takes place during the summer holidays NO Holiday measure or care takes place. Please ask the city of Herne itself whether there are short-term offers in other locations.

Update 17 June 20th, 2020

During this week your children will receive certificates.
The certificates are first issued to the students at the BPS.
Original certificates are available for the students who are dismissed.
The original certificates are also available for the pupils who can sign themselves.
Otherwise, there is a copy of the certificate for all other students at all levels.
After the holidays, you can collect the certificate from school in exchange for a copy.
Your children will also bring the decision according to Section 17 of the School Act with them. This is the conference decision that your child will also be taught with us in the next school year with a special focus on "intellectual development". You must also sign this and send it back to us or hand it in after the holidays!
The BPS students who attend our school for more than the 12th year of school in the next school year also have an application for schooling with them, which you fill out and sign and return to the school.
It is the last day of school for your child

  • In the BPS Monday the 22.06.
  • In the upper school Thursday, June 25th
  • In the middle, lower and preliminary grades, the last day of school this year is Friday, June 26th.
  • On the last day of school, school is open until 12.30 p.m. as on normal Fridays.
Lessons start after the holidays on Wednesday, August 12th, 2020 at 8:30 a.m.
You will be informed about any changes made by the ministry on the homepage at short notice
    www. schule-am-schwalbenweg.de informs.
We very much regret that all traditions - such as the graduation ceremony - may not or cannot take place this school year as usual.
The families will receive separate letters for the new pupils for the next school year.

Have a nice holiday season and stay healthy!

Margit Keßebohm and Gisbert Knierim

Update 16 June 8th, 2020

The final instructions from the Ministry and the school department of the Arnsberg district government require the following planning, which will apply from June 15, 2020:

All pupils in the pre- and lower-level (primary level) go to school every day!

As in the last few weeks, the pupils in the intermediate, advanced and professional levels only come on certain days! The teachers will tell you what these are.

The emergency care for the students from M, O and BPS will be continued. However, these are integrated into the groups of M, O, and B.

The pupils from the V and U are integrated into the classes during the whole week.

The following applies to all:

Lessons from 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Monday to Thursday.

Lessons on Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

There is no hot lunch. So, as before, give you another snack for lunch.

Make it clear to yourself: the pupils who take the school buses can no longer keep the minimum distance there. It is essential that you wear a nose and mouth mask!

Even the V`s and U`s in the class group cannot keep the minimum distance there. That is why nose and mouth protection has to be worn more often there too.

For schoolchildren at risk who are ill, I ask for a risk assessment by the attending physician.

No acutely ill child (fever, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.) is allowed to attend school, nor is any child whose family members from the same household are currently ill with an infectious disease (fever, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.)! A child who is so ill can only return to school with a doctor's declaration of health.

If you do not want to send your child to school for safety reasons, it is imperative that you use the leave of absence application a little further down the page!

This school year there is no parenting day to issue certificates, no discharge ceremony!

Copies of the certificates will be distributed to the students on their last day of school!

The original with a seal and signature should be picked up after the holidays against a signature.

The last day of school for the students

• the preliminary, lower and intermediate levels is June 26th, 2020,

• the upper levels is June 25th, 2020,

• the BPS is June 22nd, 2020.

The school leavers receive their original certificate! Page 1 / 1Zoom 100%

Update 12 May 16, 2020 10.50 a.m.

We have not yet approved the expected start of school!

We plan anyway! Here are our preliminary considerations:

  • Not all Students start again at the same time.
  • Each day of the week only a step be trained.
  • Not all Schoolchildren in both grades will be trained.
  • The 1st day of schooling for your child / children is Trial daywhether your child can keep the hygiene rules / the distance.
  • The coming school days will only be from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. occur. So no lunch at school!
  • The bus transport should as usual for the students occur, who are actually allowed to come to school that day.
  • For the days between school days, you will continue to receive job offers for at home.

As soon as we are allowed to start, you will be informed by the class teachers!

Realize that many students could have a day at school this school year, but some students, some students (except for the parenting days / testimony talks at the end of the school year with an appointment), cannot enter the school!

School mail from MSB NRW from Friday afternoon in excerpts

Dear Sir or Madam,

Since March 18, 2020, the schools in North Rhine-Westphalia have been offering so-called emergency care, especially for grades 1 to 6. [...]

A right to this emergency care has so far existed if both parents work in the area of so-called critical infrastructures, where they are indispensable and child care cannot be made possible by the parents themselves. Single parents who work in the field of critical infrastructures are also entitled.

From March 23, 2020, the existing regulation will be expanded: All employees, regardless of the employment of the partner, who are employed in critical infrastructures, are indispensable there and cannot guarantee care in their private environment, have a right to emergency care.

Link to the form:

https://www.schulministerium.nrw.de/docs/Recht/Schulgesundheitsrecht/Infektionsschutz/300-Coronavirus/Antrag-auf-Betreuung-eines-Kindes-waehrend-des-Ruhens-des-Unterrichts.pdf

[1]

[or download it directly here and print it out]

Also from March 23, 2020 up to and including April 19, 2020, the scope of the emergency care will also be extended. From then on, emergency care is available every day of the week, including Saturdays and Sundays, and during the Easter holidays with the exception of Good Friday to Easter Monday.

In the schools, the extended emergency care is provided by state teachers and staff from the provider of all-day care within the framework of collective bargaining regulations.

[...]

Priority should be given to volunteers. Teachers who are sixty years of age or older or who have an increased risk of the corona virus (e.g. relevant previous illnesses) may not be used for emergency care. Pregnant women and teachers who are still on maternity leave after the delivery are also not allowed to be used for care (see SchulMail No. 5).

Please note this letter from the Herne Education Authority!

Education Office and City of Herne

Due to the various decrees of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and corresponding general decrees of the city of Herne, the schools of the city of Herne offer from Monday, March 16, 2020, to prevent the further spread of SARS-CoV-2 in schools between March 16, 2020 and April 19, 2020 only an alternative care for children of parents, especially the 1st to 6th School years and the special schools on Schwalbenweg and Robert-Brauner, who are “indispensable key people” and who for compelling reasons cannot organize home or private care.

This is particularly the case if the parents work in institutions in the following areas. The individual occupation is decisive for the indispensability of the person.

  • Health care and nursing, care for the elderly and the handicapped as well as child and youth welfare;
  • public safety and order including non-police security (fire brigade, rescue service and disaster control);
  • Ensuring public infrastructures (telecommunications services, energy, water, public transport, waste disposal);
  • Food supply;
  • Ensuring that central authorities in the state, judiciary and administration are able to act;
  • Miscellaneous.
